SPRING CAME EARLY!!
Spent the entire Winter, such as it was, working in the garden, planting Tulips and other beautiful bulbs (some will be an ongoing endeavor worked in between upcoming Spring & Summer crops!). Not sure if/when Pine Straw will be a thing this year; will see as soon as things are caught up in the garden. Today, the Universe is lining up celestially, -fully believing that aligning will transfer into an incredible manifested reality here, -with only GREAT things ahead!! Eggs will be coming on in full production soon; Vegetable Plants will be available for April-May, some fresh produce will be coming on in May-June; -and most importantly, the Flower Farm is already blooming away to bring much joy to customers all over Tidewater! Much of it will be going to the most talented Florists and Event Designers in the area to work their magic and spread the beauty to their customers. As there is time and availability, I will post a few of my own arrangements. Check back regularly and follow on Instagram and facebook for Item Availability Updates. THE VISION This year things are being better balanced to stay focused on my own "product". Pinewoods Farms' sole purpose from the beginning was to *produce* healthy goods, whether it be fresh vegetables, eggs, plants, flowers, -herbs. Along the way trying to meet customers' needs, others' items were brought in as a convenience. After the disaster of "The Pine Straw Fiasco of 2021" and MONTHS of time being tied up doing damage control and having to make excuses for others' inability to produce their own products, I will only be able to do a limited time availability for 2022. Should the supplier's deliveries run promptly and smoothly, am anticipating to be delivering March & April, and possibly again in the Fall. The Gardens and the Hickory Hens are Number One priority, and the only things I have any control over. Herbs & Spices I will resume wholeheartedly again once settled in my new stand location, -as soon as the Universe lines it up. Eventually, at some point in the future, the goal is to relocate to a much larger property (preferably not on a swamp), to establish a fruit and nut orchard, much larger gardens, and put down roots for all of the long-term crops that have been on the waiting list for decades. And to finally build the quaint little shop on the premises. Have the building, -just need the land. ROADSIDE STAND & FARMERS' MARKETS
The Roadside Farm Stand is taking a brief break until plants and produce are ready. No Farmers' Markets planned for the year. After the last two years, I cannot guarantee how smoothly the Pre-Orders deliveries will run. Please understand that there may be a slight delay.
Ordering ahead of the masses would be ideal to hopefully ensure more prompt turnaround time. High-demand will kick in by April. |
MAYMEADOWS FLORALS
It's official! The flower farm is kicking off in full bloom this year. Have expanded to keep up with the demand, and dedicated over an acre to growing even more gorgeous selections. So many "unusuals" and harder-to-finds to make for some stunning and unique arrangements. From early Summer through Fall, there will be an abundant supply of flowers, -including Sweet Peas, Ranunculus, big fluffy Dahlias, Sunflowers, of course, and many annuals and fillers. Did I mention Dahlias?!? Over 50 varieties!!, in huge Dinnerplates, Decoratives, Balls, and PomPons. It's going to be a spectacular Summer! Charming bouquets are available in the CSA and there will be a selection at the Stand, as well as Florists' Bunches of individual flowers so you can put together your own arrangements. Have planned a good selection of bridal colors, so if you know someone getting married, let them know they might just find their perfect flowers. Like the flowers you get this Summer? Keep Maymeadows Florals in mind for the Holidays, too. Centerpieces and Wreaths will be available to celebrate with fresh beauty. THE VEG GARDEN Fresh produce will be available at the Roadside stand this Spring through early Fall, and am working with the coordinator of a local outreach program to help fulfill some needs this year. Thrilled to participate in this project. EGGS! & THE HICKORY HENS
The Hickory Hens (chickens and ducks) are laying the most beautiful eggs; and in better quantities now with the lengthening days. Watch for egg listings to come online in full force soon. Some of the most delicious eggs you will ever eat, -and truly the most beautiful! |
More Vegetable Plant Varieties & Listings are being added soon.
