HAPPY SPRING!!
In spite of the cold temperatures and the calendar showing it was still Winter, Nature said otherwise. The plant life ("weeds") is already at May growth levels around the yard. So thankful to be on schedule with seed sowing, especially for the vegetable starts, so I can stay on top of keeping the garden in check. Several items are available in the online shop for pre-order. Many more varieties are coming online as soon as I'm confident that I'll be able to honor the quantities and varieties. Still ordering in seeds and baby plants materials. Once in, many things take about 6 weeks to be ready to go to their new home gardens. Very excited for the varieties on offer! As usual, mostly heirlooms, -for their flavor, their beauty, and for their history. Nearly every variety offered is open-pollinated; you can isolate individual blooms and save the seeds for the future! NEW OPPORTUNITIES This year we are trying out a new partnership with a local feed store, who will be selling Pinewoods Farms plants from their storefront. That's great news for folks who want to take a short "country drive", and check out the other neat items available at this old school store. Maybe even see some chicks! Will update and post details once they have the plants. ROADSIDE STAND & FARMERS' MARKETS
The Roadside Farm Stand is taking a break until an ideal location is found. No Farmers' Markets planned for the year. THE VEGETABLE GARDEN
Have fine-tuned more efficient (and economical) ways to build the garden beds and produce a better quality growing soil. Am finally able to use mostly farm-sourced inputs. Labor-intensive up front, but so worth it, and even more control over keeping yucky things out of the soil. As long as my computer and phone cooperate, there will be regular listings of availability throughout the season of all the goodies growing. NEWSLETTER Determined to make myself sit down with my nearly ancient laptop (12+ years old) and work on consistent e-Mails/Newsletters. VIDEOS Once I get caught up on the build projects there will be videos, as promised. |
MAYMEADOWS FLORALS
This year, there will be weekly bouquets available, and straight bunches of individual flowers. FLORISTS & EVENT DESIGNERS Please order from the MAYMEADOWS FLOWER FARM website, -online in April. EGGS! & THE HICKORY HENS
The Hickory Hens (chickens and ducks) are back at work laying eggs, in better quantities with the lengthening days. Watch for egg listings to come online after Easter. Some of the most delicious eggs you will ever eat, -and the most beautiful! Have been working on their very own feed recipe over the last several months. You wouldn't believe what all is involved with securing clean, FRESH, SAFE, healthy feed, and all the drama that goes with it. My goal is to grow 100% of their feed within the next 2 years. |
More Vegetable Plant Varieties & Listings are being added soon.
