PINE STRAW MULCH (BALES)
***MAY 28th UPDATE***
Putting a temporary hold on Pine Straw sales until I can get some definite news on availability, and the current standing pre-orders taken care of.

***NOTE TO MY CUSTOMERS WHO
***MAY 6th UPDATE***
The latest word is that Pine Straw may/should be here and available in 1-2 weeks.
This is my backup supplier and Plan B work-around to have it as soon as possible to start fulfilling standing Pre-Orders. The quality is usually pretty good.
The original shipment may appear sooner; I’m covering all bases to get this back on track for everyone.
***APRIL 27th UPDATE***
Have received more thorough update information from my supplier(s) and broker(s) regarding the delayed shipping of pine straw.
There is a major backlog on mulch materials (including pine straw), industrywide, -due to several factors:
-Materials availability (some areas were severely impacted by storms, -labor issues, increased costs, COVID)
-Shipping backlogs (across the board, -not just these materials, or this industry)
-The higher than usual demand for these products with homeowners taking on Spring projects in their 'down time'.
I have been told the projected waiting time is 2-3 weeks. (As my order has been in for a few weeks already, I'm hopeful this will arrive ahead of the estimated time.)
Checking with other sellers in the region, I hear they're in the same boat.
In the meantime while waiting on this new shipment, I have been searching for a work-around to procure quality pine straw for my customers who have been waiting.
All of my previous (back-up) suppliers are out, and have an even longer waiting time than my preferred current supplier.
I have found one (new) supplier, however their current stock is not completely up to my standards.
The bales, -while they're dry and clean, -have obviously been sitting for a while and are a bit on the dull side, ....-just seem stale. They will get the job done, -they look like they'll be easy to work with, and once hosed off should have a revived appearance. I will be offering these at a discounted price in limited quantities, -for those just wanting to get on with their tasks. (Once I see how customers like these, I may offer more until my shipment comes in.)
I will continue to seek out a more expedient winning solution; these bales are the best I can find at the moment.
***THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE!!!***
These are unique times indeed.

NOTE REGARDING QUALITY - ANSWERS TO FAQs:
Consistency varies from batch to batch, though I am generally pleased with the quality of the stock offered.
Contractors and landscapers use this pine straw all over Tidewater, and give good feedback.
Every now and then I receive shipment of a batch I'm particularly thrilled with.
Some batches the bales are somewhat loosely bound (and fall apart more easily), but look nice and full.
Other batches the bales may appear smaller and more compact, but were actually packed and tied tightly.
The color runs consistently with good tones.
Twigs and Pine Cones: Natural debris is unavoidable and should be expected due to the nature of harvesting.
Trash: Should be none.
Compared to the national hardware stores' quality (when available), the pine straw bales offered here are much fresher, -a better quality, in all aspects.
These sell quickly and steadily throughout the year. Inventory numbers may not be accurate due to high turnover.
*Need larger quantities? Let me know so I can accommodate.
*At checkout, please leave a note with the following information to help me to serve you better.*
Helpful information includes:
-Where you would like the bales to be left at time of delivery, in case you are not there?
-And if you prefer to be there? -Or don't have a preference?
-If you prefer to be there, please note day and time preferences (a range of options is helpful as your delivery is being scheduled around other deliveries).
-When's the latest you would need your delivery by and degree of urgency? (especially helpful if you are working to a schedule)
-I try to deliver on dry (rain-free) days for your benefit, though several straight days of rain can hold things up. Noting if the weather is or is not an issue for you is helpful.
-Any details you can provide when ordering are appreciated!
